Full-Time English Teacher

I. Mission and Philosophy

The Full-Time English Teacher at Grace Prep is a person of faith who actively supports the administrative leadership and is dedicated to fostering an academically rigorous, engaging, and Christ-centered environment. In accordance with the 40 Points of Grace, the Teacher commits to aligning all instruction and conduct with the school's biblical mission and vision of "intelligent faith."

II. Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Spiritual Leadership: A strong, visible Christian testimony and a commitment to distinctively Christian education.

  • Pedagogical Excellence: Openness to innovative educational initiatives and a commitment to continuous professional development.

  • Professionalism: Excellent written/verbal communication, superior organizational skills, and high computer literacy (specifically within school management software).

  • Relational Integrity: Ability to mentor students and maintain cooperative relationships with staff, parents, board members, and the head of school.

III. Professional Tasks & Responsibilities

A. Academic Instruction

  • Course Load: Instruct four (4) English classes, developing engaging lessons that integrate biblical worldview and "intelligent faith" concepts.

  • Curriculum: Teach the structure, content, and literary styles of the English language, assisting students in the critical interpretation of literature.

  • Assessment: Develop formative and summative assessments; maintain up-to-date grades 

  • Communication: Maintain regular contact with all parents and students 

B. Discipleship & Culture

  • D-Group Leadership: Lead an assigned Discipleship Group (D-Group) once per week, implementing the school's emotional/spiritual check-in framework and providing intentional mentorship.

  • Relational Presence: Actively participate in the "relational culture" of the school by attending and potentially assisting in the planning of:

    • Core Events: Extreme Grace I & II, Air School, Graduation.

    • Community Events: All-School Grill Night, Back to School Night, State of Grace Meeting, Trivia Night, Parent/Teacher Conferences, 40 Points Fundraiser, 

    • Student Support: Periodic attendance at home sporting events (Soccer, Basketball, etc.) to support student pursuits.

C. Administrative & General

  • Reporting: Report primarily to the Principal, with additional assignments directed by the Head of School or Director of Spiritual Life.

  • Meetings: Attend all weekly staff meetings and participate in an annual formal evaluation process.

  • Ancillary Duties: Perform other duties as assigned, which may include teaching a Bible class or an elective.

Part-Time Learning Support Teacher

The Part-Time Learning Support Teacher at Grace Prep is a person of faith who actively supports the administrative leadership and is dedicated to fostering an academically rigorous, engaging, and Christ-centered environment. In accordance with the 40 Points of Grace, the Teacher commits to aligning all instruction and conduct with the school's biblical mission and vision of "intelligent faith," specifically ensuring that students with diverse learning needs are empowered to reach their full academic and spiritual potential.

II. Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Spiritual Leadership: A strong, visible Christian testimony and a commitment to distinctively Christian education.

  • Specialized Pedagogy: Knowledge of diverse learning styles, neurodiversity, and differentiated instruction. Openness to innovative educational initiatives and a commitment to continuous professional development in the field of learning support.

  • Professionalism: Excellent written/verbal communication, superior organizational skills, and high computer literacy (specifically within school management software and educational accessibility tools).

  • Relational Integrity: Ability to mentor students and maintain cooperative, transparent relationships with staff, parents, board members, and the head of school.

III. Professional Tasks & Responsibilities

A. Student Support & Academic Intervention

  • Direct Instruction: Provide targeted academic support to students, individually or in small groups, focusing on executive functioning, study skills, and reinforcement of core subjects.

  • Accommodations Management: Collaborate with classroom teachers to implement and monitor student learning plans and classroom accommodations.

  • Progress Tracking: Maintain detailed records of student progress; assist in modifying assessments; and ensure grading accurately reflects student growth and effort.

  • Communication: Maintain regular, proactive contact with parents about student progress, learning strategies, and academic goals.

B. Discipleship & Culture

  • Relational Presence: Actively participate in the "relational culture" of the school by attending:

  • Ancillary Duties: Perform other duties as assigned, which may include leading a D-Group on Wednesday at lunch.
