Why do students love to talk on the phone and IM all night? Because they naturally love to learn more about relationships than about any other subject matter. Their relationships will affect the rest of their lives.
Relationships are important to God too. Christians must encourage each other every day and learn how to love each other. That's why we deliberately equip students to pursue effective relationships with friends, parents, teachers, and community members.
Some of our most important relationships are found in our intimate discipleship groups. Interested students are placed with staff members who desire to spur the students on towards Christ. Of course, along with Bible study, service, and faithful prayer, the groups have a blast together! On any given weekend, you might find the guy's group duct-taping Mr. Devlin's van or the girl's group chatting over manicures and iced lattes.
We encourage students to develop friendships by hosting all kinds of fun social activities. Some of the fun ideas we have are: late night football games, bonfires, concerts, cook-outs, banquets, proms, theme parties, paintball extravaganzas, Mary-Kay makeover parties (girls only!), and field-trips all over the globe!
Entrepreneurship 101, service projects, and professional internships develop professional, spiritual, and personal relationships. During election years, students discover what God says about their political relationship with the state, nation, and world. Above all else, we encourage relationships with Jesus Christ, without which education is purposeless.
