A Few of Our Living Letters

“...[their] lives are a letter written in our hearts, and everyone can read it and recognize our good work among you. Clearly [they] are a letter from Christ prepared by us. It is written not with pen and ink, but with the Spirit of the living God. It is carved not on stone, but on human hearts. - 2 Corinthians 3:2-3

Salim, Class of '08

Dear Bob,

I’d like to thank you for all the lessons you’ve taught me. You’ve taught me that...

If you run through a red light, even if it’s flashing, the cops will find you and fine you. And that the excuse “I’m taking these boys home from church at 1:00 am, “(even if it’s true) will not get you out of that fine. You’ve taught me that if you are in a grocery store downtown wearing a suit, you are probably the oldest person in the store. You’ve taught me to only make prank calls if you block your number, and have enough people in the room with you to take the blame.

But more importantly you’ve taught me how to be the man God has called me to be.

-Thank you, Salim, Class of ‘08

When I first heard of Grace Prep, I thought it was one of the typical Christian schools: uniforms, legalism, and less-than-great academics. The retreat I went on, before I decided to come, changed that view completely. I saw teachers who were both great at what they did and were genuinely involved in the students’ lives. I also saw a group of students who were fun to be with and who carried themselves as a family. But what I saw most clearly and what took away my doubts about Grace Prep, was that everyone was genuinely on fire for God.

All this is to say that, over more than a year and a half, I have grown deeper in my relationship with Jesus Christ. Being around others who love God and are sold out for Him has a way of rubbing off. I just wanted to say thank you for all you guys do, and for the good role models all the staff are.

On behalf of our family, Kim and I wish to express our deeply felt gratitude for the opportunity you, your staff, and Grace Prep have afforded our son, Daniel. Our fear for our son’s education has been replaced with exhilaration and hope, and our financial shortfall was covered by the very Grace for which your school is named. Neither do we deserve this favor, nor can it be repaid in full, and yet we are called to joyfully return His grace in kind.

We believe that the testimony of our family may encourage the parents of other children to consider how important this decision is for their children’s future.

Gratefully,
- Kim and Allen Stubblefield, Dan's Parents
